  6.    The following message, posted on MagickNet, quotes an article published in
  7. Lyndon LaRouche's <<New Federalist>> on August 11, 1989.  Apparently, as the
  8. article which follows the message reveals, LaRouche's latest target is a group
  9. of BBSs frequented by Pagans, Witches, practitioners of the Craft, etc. He is
  10. claiming that these bulletin boards are part of a worldwide conspiracy -- this
  11. time, a Satanist worldwide conspiracy.  Satanism is sweeping the globe -- hot
  12. on the heels of worldwide conspiracies to turn the population into
  13. dope-smoking homosexual communist degenerates, THIS conspiracy delivers the
  14. final blow when the child-molesting Satanists make their Big Move.

  16.    LaRouche's interest in closing down free telecommunications outlets is
  17. shared by the fascist powers-that-be in the government and the intelligence
  18. "community." The MagickNetters are on the alert, as all BBSers should be, for
  19. LaRouchian surveillance.

  28.  The following article was submitted to the archives today.  I thought all of
  29. you here should see it.  It comes from the New Federalist (LaRouche's
  30. newsletter) and is dated 8/11/89- P. 12

  32.  "SATANIC UNDERGROUND CAN PROTECT CHILD ABUSERS"

  36.  (Aug.4. Eirns) -"When Fred 'Tex' Burke of Arlington, Texas decided to flee
  37. rather than face a May 15, 1989, court-ordered hearing on his fitness as a
  38. parent, he took his 7-year-old daughter, Guinevere with him.  Burke thereby
  39. set into motion a chain of events which would lead to the exposure of an
  40. international Satanic underground railroad, supported by a Satanic computer
  41. network known as MagickNet.

  43.  When Burke failed to appear, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
  44. Investigators searching Burke's residence found child pornogreaphy; an
  45. assortment of sexual devices; announcements of meetings of the 'Church of
  46. Wicca' which urged him to bring his daughter; a Ku Klux Klan "lifetime
  47. supporter' certificate; and a document entitled 'sword blooding', which showed
  48. the preferred method for dissecting and skinning a human body.

  50.  Authorities, worried for the safety of Guinevere, tracked Burke to Oklahoma,
  51. where he was being assisted by a network of witches in an attempt to escape to
  52. Canada.  Burke made it as far as the Lincoln, Nebraska area, where he was
  53. arrested July 13. The Lincoln area has been described by law enforcement
  54. sources as being a 'hotbed' of Wiccan activity.

  56.   Guinevere Burke was rescued unharmed and is now under the protection of the
  57. authorities.

  59.                      SATANIC UNDERGROUND

  61.  The scope of this underground Satanic railroad was confirmed by a computer
  62. message posted on MagickNet July 13, the same day Burke was apprehended. The
  63. message from a witch named Farrell McGovern of Toronto, Canada, said:
  64. 'Anahita-Glua has been contacted by trustworthy pagan friends from Oklahoma,
  65. who are harboring a gentleman and his seven year old daughter who have been on
  66. the run... The Father wants to come to Canada w/ Daughter... is there anyone
  67. out there who might consider helping these two?'  
  68.  
  69.   Anahita-Glua is identified in the message as a Third Degree Gardnerian Wicca
  70. Priestess from Ottawa ,Canada. The message goes on to note that 'there is a
  71. warrant out for his arrest for kidnapping' MagickNet , a self-described
  72. "electronic coven' is an international personal computer network which
  73. speciliazes in the occult and in providing counterintelligence about law
  74. enforcement and other groups investigating witchcraft.

  76.   It is run by Brad Hicks of St. Louis, Missouri, who runs in Wiccan circles
  77. and in circles linked to Lt. Col. Michael Aquino, also of St. Louis and head
  78. of the openly Satanic Temple of Set. In addition to Hicks's 'Wierdbase'
  79. bulletin board, key links include the Ordo Templi Orientis 'Thelemanet' and
  80. 'Baphonet` bulletin boards in San Francisco and New York respectively.  There
  81. are over 60 MagickNet outlets in the United States and Canada.

  86.   The Burke case is significant to those investigating Satanic networks for
  87. two reasons.  First, it clearly shows that Wicca despite its protestations
  88. about being opposed to child abuse ant other liiegal activity, has a
  89. functioning underground railroad to protect fugitive members, even kidnappers
  90. and those suspected of child abuse. 
  91.  
  92.   Second, it underscores the role played in this underground by Satanic
  93. computer networks , such as Magicknet. 
  94.  
  95.   A continuing investigation by reporters for this publication has confirmed
  96. that the Wiccans are highly upset by this exposure of their operations, and
  97. are attempting to set up a more secure communications channel. Obviously, they
  98. feel they have something to hide. "

  104. So there you have it folks.  As I see it, the article raises several issues. 
  105.  
  106.   1. Security.  We should be aware that these folks are monitoring our EVERY
  107. WORD!!! DON'T post names, addresses, or other sensitive information on the
  108. open net. and DON'T post potentially damaging messages. Things can be taken
  109. out of context and twisted to hurt the entire Craft. You may think that
  110. nobody listens to the LaRouche nuts, but at least one 'cult bashing' ministry,
  111. W.A.T.C.H. network in El Paso, Texas is working with these folks and
  112. networking with them. There are now frequent quotes from the New Federalist
  113. in the WATCH newsletter. And WATCH has ties into the whole "occult crime'
  114. industry network!!! THINK before you post.

  116.   2. Can someone in Texas get to work and find out if the allegations of the
  117. child porno and sexual devices is accurate. WE have GOT to know what's true in
  118. this case. We can't afford to jump on the bandwagon without FACTS. All we know
  119. so far is that Burke CLAIMS to be Pagan. He could be anything. We can't afford
  120. to support him publicly without cold hard facts. To do anything else could
  121. bring very disastrous ramifications on the entire pagan community.

  123.   3. What are we as a community going to do about potentially damaging
  124. "lurkers"?

  126.  Let's think about this one folks. We here on the Net are SO visible that what
  127. we do has a high potential to affect the lives of the entire Pagan/Wiccan
  128. community in this country. These are tough issues that need to be addressed.
